Government of India has launched a World Bank assisted project SANKALP. It aims to strengthen institutional mechanism for skill development and increase access to quality and market-relevant training for youth across the country.
There are three major Indicators designed to measure the performance of States:
Institutional Strengthening at the National and State Levels for Planning, Delivering, and Monitoring of Skill Development Programmes
Improved Quality and Market Relevance of Skill Development Programmes
Improved Access and Completion of Skill Training for Female Trainees and Other Disadvantaged Groups
The State of Sikkim is towards the end of implementation of SANKALP 1.0 and SANKALP 2.0 is under process.
